• PlayStation 4 - Over 180 Titles, Plus 24 Exclusives

The new commercial for PlayStation 4 shows Sony boasting about a very rich lineup of games. Recently there have been some rumors going about that the PS4’s library over the first year post launch would be weak, especially since Drive Club’s delay. Well this addition pretty much puts all those rumors to rest in one fell swoop.

Firstly it is stated that currently 24 PlayStation 4 exclusive games are in the works. The biggest names amongst those 24 include Infamous: Second Son, Killzone: Shadow Fall, and The Order: 1886.

Right after that the ad goes to state that “14 award winning studios” are making PS4 games. This clearly points to the first party developers which include big names such as Media Molecule (Little Big Planet), Sucker Punch (Infamous), Guerrilla Games (Killzone), Naughty Dog (Uncharted), and Sony Santa Monica (God of War) to name a few.

Lastly the ad goes to mention that over 180 games are being developed for the PS4 currently, and that it is “more than any other next-gen console”. These games would include big titles such as Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Destiny, and Watch Dogs, which would also be getting timed exclusive downloadable content on the PS4.

The last we heard from Sony (somewhere in June), they said that its first party developers were working on 30 titles, out of which 20 of which would be released within the first year of the PS4’s launch, and 12 of which would be brand new franchises.

As for the 180 games being developed for the PS4, it has been stated that 33 of them would be released before the end of 2013. That’s a whole lot of games if you ask me. Now if they just could show us what these games were, that would be just great.

I guess this is one way of selling the system. Microsoft just confirmed that the PlayStation 4 can be connected to the Xbox One. This bit of news came from Microsoft executive Albert Panello who mentioned that the PS4 can be connected to the Xbox One through the Xbox One's HDMI in port. This would in effect allow players to play PS4 games within an Xbox One overlay.

If you think that is cool you might find this even more so. Panello also confirmed that by doing this, gamers will have the ability to multitask between the two competing consoles. "Any application can be snapped to a game, so if you wanted to be playing Ryse and Killzone at the same time, you could snap that," he said. As you might know Ryse is an Xbox exclusive while Killzone is a PS4 exclusive.

However this doesn't just limit players to the PS4. Any console that outputs via HDMI (Xbox 360, PS4 and Wii U) can be hooked on to the Xbox One in a similar fashion. This is an intriguing concept, and might be handy considering that most consumers might possess one or more of the current and next gen consoles.

Still not enough info is out about how this will work exactly and whether it is even feasible to play two games simultaneously using the "snap" feature. But this could be something to keep an eye on. I guess more than selling the Xbox One, this feature helps to support its place along other consoles a gamer might possess. Would this be a system seller still remains to be decided.

    ps4 bundle

Oh Amazon, how we love your leaks. Just a few days ago there was a bundle that showed up on Amazon France. The “Mega Bundle” so to say was shown to contain the PlayStation 4 500GB console, 2 DualShock 4 controllers, and a copy of Killzone: Shadow Fall. At the moment the bundle was also listed at the same European launch price of the Xbox One €499.

A PS4 bundle was expected and this bundle was probably made to counter the European launch of Xbox One consoles (including the Kinect) which would be coming with FIFA 2014 for €499. But the best part is that recently Sony has confirmed that this bundle will released in Europe.

Sony's UK boss Fergal Gara told Eurogamer that the bundle will also be coming to the UK. although the price has yet to be fixed. For now the price of the bundle expected to be within £10 of the Xbox Ones's UK price. The bundle offers a saving of around a whopping £70 when compared with buying the items separately. This is what he had to say,

"I can officially confirm that the answer is yes [Sony will bring the bundle to the UK]. It'll be similarly benchmarked in euro equivalent. PlayStation 4 is £349 and €399, so it will be the same equivalent. It will be no more than a tenner either way [of the Xbox One £429 UK price] depending on what conversation rate we use on the given day."

Gara also went and reassured that anyone with an existing pre-order shouldn't worry about cancelling to upgrade. He explained that the retailers will be calling those who've pre-ordered in order of when they pre-purchased the console to offer them to chance to upgrade to one of the available bundles.

"It [the mega bundle] is in limited volume, and therefore it is probably going to go mainly to current pre-order customers, then follow-up volume may well be post-Christmas," Gara said. "But there are other bundles that also represent incredibly good value. It's not just about having a good base price. We want to offer value in every way we can.

"Our retail partners are contacting their pre-order customers in order, so starting with the first, working up to when they run out of that special bundle, saying, we now have clarity on exactly what PlayStation 4 bundles we have to offer for day one. Would you like option A, B, C or D?

"Everybody who has pre-ordered in the expectation they're getting just the PS4, including the DualShock 4 and the headset - the basic configuration. But as we've worked through the details and worked through the options we've come up with some great bundle offers. And it is only fair the first people in the queue get first chance to get that.

"It's a brilliant thing to do for the gamer. In theory there could be some free on day one, but I think it's unlikely, because the people in that queue are going to say yes please."

And who wouldn’t? I mean I would love to get my hands on one of those bundles! If you are one of the lucky few who pre-ordered then please do keep your phones close. Wonder what kind of offers you lucky ones are going to get! As for the rest of us, PlayStation 4 will launch in North America on the 15th of November and in Europe on the 29th of November. Here is to hoping some people are insane and ignore the offer so we can put get our mitts on some of these great deals!

Microsoft has their TitanFall for Xbox One, and Sony has their Killzone Shadow Fall for the PlayStation 4. There are the launch games that are getting most attention from the gamers and a lot of them are basing their decision on which console to get, based on how badass these games are.

We have seen a lot covered for TitanFall over the last few weeks and now it is time to take a better look at Killzone Shadow Fall. The one advantage that Killzone has over TitanFall is that the game will be featuring a single player campaign as well. Although that is not gonna be enough to win the crowd as TitanFall looks amazing!

But recent footage has shown how the multiplayer is shaping up to be in ShadowFall and let me tell you, people are excited by the excellent multiplayer action! New details also surfaced regarding ShadowFall multiplayer, so let us jump right in.

There will be at least 22 weapons available from the get go. In addition to that there will be 19 different weapon attachments. Guerilla has already mentioned that they will be constantly supporting the multiplayer component so definitely more goodies like these will be popping in as time goes on. One awesome bit of info is that they are planning on releasing DLC maps FOR FREE “to prevent the player base from becoming fractured.”

Other cool fact is that single player mechanics will be making their way to the multiplayer such as the snap-in cover system among others. Also the drop-down melee will also be featured in the multiplayer.

ShadowFall will be featuring 3 distinct classes and a dozen unique special abilities in multiplayer. In addition, each of these classes can be enhanced with 2 additional special skills which would give added variability.

And last but not least there is are custom warzones with "supercharged customization features" and excellent Combat Honors that sweeten the deal that much more! Well they have to bring their A-game if they want to live up to the stiff competition. There was never a better time to be a gamer!

Killzone ShadowFall is set to be released alongside the Playstation 4 which will be launching on the 15th November in North America, and 29th of November in Europe. Just have to hold on for a couple more months, just a couple more months.

  • Killzone on the PS4 will only have 1 Player Offline Mode

    Killzone no Co-op

Being able to play singleplayer campaigns with friends has always been something I’d enjoy- perhaps I’d play it through again with a couple buddies after completing a game on my first playthrough.

This would give us extra time to explore the game world a little more, and also have enough manpower to try the harder difficulties. Personally, I always preferred to invite my friends around and play the game together sitting from the same couch- it always felt more social that way, and I’d choose that over online co-op any day.

Killzone 3 offered split screen co-op, but if the new Killzone Shadowfall website is to be believed, the upcoming PS4 title will only support 1 player offline play.

This will mean no split screen for multiplayer or campaign, so to play with your friends you’ll have to do it via online play with two separate consoles and games.

There aren’t any details on whether the campaign will actually be able to be played co-operatively, but following on from Killzone 3, it would be a bit strange if it weren't possible.
