  • Dragon's Dogma Online: Cross-Platform Support, Native 1080p

There is much debate regarding whether players care about the technical prowess of the games i.e. FPS and resolution, but I guess it doesn’t hurt to be safe.

As such Capcom has come forth and confirmed, to DualSchockers, that the upcoming PlayStation 4 version of Dragon's Dogma Online will run in 1080p and 60 FPS. Kent Kinoshita recently revealed in an in event in Tokyo, that the PS3 version will run at 720p at 30 FPS.

Although they are aiming for 60FPS for the PS4 version, it is expected to have some dips in FPS as up to 100 players may be on screen at same time during the game. Despite that they mentioned they are aiming to lock it down at 60 FPS.

They further confirmed that Dragon’s Dogma Online will be supporting cross-platform play across the PC, PS3 and PS4. The exact release date has yet to be revealed but it is believed that it will be launching in Japan sometime in 2015 and soon after in other regions.

  • Deus EX: Mankind Divided Announced

So Square Enix has now official revealed Deus Ex: Mankind Divided for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The story will take place in 2020, exactly 2 years after the Aug Incident that occurred in Panchea in Deus Ex: Human Revolution. After millions died, a massive divide has occurred between people with augments and those without.

David Anfossi, Head of Studio, Eidos-Montréal said, “For 15 years, Deus Ex has been a point of conversation across the games industry and beyond, whether the topic is the franchise’s unique gameplay or topical narrative focused on advanced biotechnology and human augmentation. What began with Deus Ex: Human Revolution goes to a whole new level in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, diving even deeper into this discussion and, in turn, offering fans an all-encompassing experience, one which will challenge their skills as players and emphasize decision-making based on real world topics.”

Adam Jensen will return in the midst of this social and political chaos with new and improved augmentations. According to the press conference, this time around there will be greater player choice which would affect the outcome of the game.

  • MGS V Voice Actress Claims Konami Did Not Fire Kojima

It was shocking indeed hearing that Hideo Kojima, along with a number of high officials, would be leaving Konami right after the release of the upcoming highly anticipated MGS V: Phantom Pain.

There was much speculation behind the cause of this including the possibility that Kojima had been fired by Konami. This was initially reveled MGS voice actress Donna Burke, who came out in twitter claiming that Kojima had been fired.  But now it seems she has taken back her claims by posting the following on Facebook:

"Konami is correct in that Kojima has not actually been fired. As I stated previously he and his team are still working hard on getting the game out. My sincere apologies to Konami, Hideo Kojima and the fans for giving the wrong impression," she said.

"I was trying to add my voice to Otsuka-san pleading with the fans to not abandon MGSV because of the stuff happening at Konami and to throw my support behind Kojima and everyone who has worked over the last five years and is working to make this game the greatest ever.

Kojima himself confirmed in a statement that he was still '100 per cent involved' in the completion of The Phantom Pain, and was 'determined to make it the greatest game I've directed to date'. So my apologies for upsetting you all."

  • Just Cause 3 Details Revealed

Sequels should improve on the original in whatever way possible, making it bigger and better right?

Just Cause 3, when this games drops on players that is exactly what might happen based on the latest statements in a recent PC Gamer interview with game director Roland Lesterlin, the AI is focus of the team:

"If you took an armored, missile launching chopper into a base and spammed it with missiles without taking damage, it would take away the joy. So our AI guys have been working hard to balance that by introducing things like anti-air guns and heavy enemies. If you get into some tough military vehicle, we’ll send in RPG troops to counteract it. That way you constantly have to shift your priorities and tactics. This makes attacking bases more fun. Maybe you’ll wing suit into a base and use your guns, then grapple up to an enemy helicopter and suddenly you’re in an air battle. The more varied the game is, the more fun it is."

As for the random events on the fictional island of Medici, He stated that it was to "give you a sense of the conflict going on."

Lesterlin also mentioned that there will be jets to travel, which will lead to many mid-air hi-jacks. The game franchise has mostly been about the crazy stunts. Avalanche will continue to push the envelope in Just Cause 3.

  • NetherRealm on Mortal Kombat X Violence

Some might say that the violence in mortal Kombat X is simply too brutal and unnecessary even.

But NetherRealm Studios sees this as a purely fantastical entertainment product, and the gruesome nature is more tongue-in-cheek and noting more.

Speaking with Polygon, John Edwards the lead game designer says they "don't try to get the gore to be too realistic." And acknowledged that Fatality is just plain gross:

"But then you laugh about it after, because it's so ridiculous. I mean, pulling the guy's organs out? That's not something that's realistic violence, right? It looks realistic, just graphically because of the power of the new consoles, but it's still very tongue-in-cheek and kind of fantastical."

Franchise co-creator Ed Boon also told GameSpot that the team actually doesn't want to go too far. He said "there's always a line that you never want to cross" but in all honesty, I can't imagine where that line is. And doesn't the line get pushed farther and farther out with each new installment?

  • Ready At Dawn: "We Blame Ourselves" for The Order’s Debacle

Developer Ready at Dawn has been testy with a lot of irate gamers in earlier weeks, the founder and CTO Andrea Pessino of the studio told Game’s princess and Italian source that it was the teams fault. She stated:

"I just have to blame ourselves. In some way, it’s obvious that we’re not communicating our intentions…It may be a lack of our ability to communicate our vision. It seems like everyone is trying to find, not a problem but rather dishonesty, it seems like we’re trying to hide something. I thought we had been very clear since the very beginning, about what we were trying to do."

She went on to say that their game is "rather unique and specific" and that it was not just about the frame rates and "a couple polygons here and there." Hoping that the studio will do a better job in presenting their future projects, so that will have a "little faith that what we're saying is true." This was a very diplomatic way of approaching things, The Order: 1886 is a game that currently it seems that every one is loving to hate. There may be some truth to what Pessino said.
