  • Uncharted 4: Insane Facial Animation System

Every Uncharted game seems to push the boundaries and it’s not doubt that Uncharted 4 is going to be the one that shows off the PS4’s capabilities.

Uncharted 4 writer Josh Scherr talked about the technical efforts being put behind Drake’s facial system,

“We’ve completely revamped our facial animation systems. The previous Uncharted games, and in The Last Of Us, the characters all had about 90 to 100 ‘bones’ in their faces which we used to move the meshes around.

Think about that, about how detailed Joel and Ellie’s pained facial expressions were, how well the game captured the respective actors’ – Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson – seminal roles. All that was achieved on the old tech. Now, the faces have anywhere between 300 and 500 bones.”

[This] lets us emote more, with all the 'bones' we can put onto [faces] - you pan round the camera to look at Nate's face when he's climbing and you see him grimacing and all this kind of stuff ... we're pushing detail on a macro and micro level that I think people are really going to respond to."

Uncharted 4 however has been delayed till 2016 unfortunately. However, there is news that an Uncharted Trilogy is in the works. Players who got the PlayStation 4 but missed out on the PlayStation 3 have a great opportunity to experience all these masterpieces in that case and prepare for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

"While you might have to wait a bit longer than expected, rest assured we're using the time wisely to further polish the game to a spit-shine level, with dazzling shader response, awe-inspiring effects, velvety smooth animations, and spectacular new gameplay segments. Really, we can’t wait to show it to you."

It seems also the animated movie has also been delayed until 2016. The current release date is set to 29 April 2016. The new version of Ratchet & Clank will be boasting new levels, updated locations and new weapons.

  • Assassin's Creed Syndicate Details

This year’s Assassin’s Creed has been revealed and is called Assassin’s Creed Syndicate (not previously rumored Assassin’s Creed Victory).

This is the first game in the franchise to be set in a post-industrial era. The setting is London, in the year 1868. The new assassin is named Jacob Frye, and he will be armed with brass knuckles, throwing knives, the assassin gauntlet which comes with a new rope dart, the classic hidden blade, and also hallucinogenic darts.

So he is packing in short. This time around instead of one we will be getting two protagonists to play as. The story will mainly revolve around Jacob Fry, but about 30% of it we will be playing as his sister, Evie Frye. This came along with the confirmation that there will be no sort of multiplayer or co-op mode in the game.

There have been changes made to several features of gameplay. Ubisoft has actually changed up the combat system in the game, making it more fast-paced. I guess they took inspiration from the Arkham series.

They have also reworked the platforming and stealth mechanics. Again, making them more intuitive. They put emphasis on utilizing the environment, in some cases using it to take down enemies. One big change was the addition of vehicles. For the first you can have vehicle chases in Assassin’s Creed, and using stage coaches no less.

Other information includes the fact that the map of London is now going to be 30% bigger than that of Paris in AC Unity. Ubisoft also admitted that AC as a series will make its return towards more focus on the modern day storylines with future installments.

Lastly, this marks the first official current gen only AC game till now. Ubisoft confirmed they will no longer be making AC games for the PS3 and Xbox One. AC Syndicate is set to launch 23rd October 2015 for the PS4 and Xbox One. As will all iterations of the AC, there will be several editions of the game, 4 to be exact.

  • Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition Revealed

After the recent release of the remastered version of DmC: Devil may Cry, Capcom has revealed the details for Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition, which is set to release this summer for current gen consoles and PC.

Revealed on publisher's blog, this updated version will have 1080p visuals and 60 frames per second, along with no fewer than five playable characters. That's right, in addition to Dante and Nero, fans will get a chance to play as Virgil, Trish, and Lady.

On top of that, Legendary Dark Knight Mode, a wave-based horde mode which was only available in the original PC release of DMC4, will be included in this re-release as well. And if that weren't enough, Capcom is also throwing in a batch of new costumes and skins, which will be reflected in the in-game cut scenes. Capcom will also bring us "improvements to the game tempo and balancing."

  • Next Call Of Duty May Feature a "Different Movement"

Industry Insider believes that we can expect changes with the movements to the uber-popular Call of Duty franchise.

This was spotted by Paradiger, shinobi602 is the original source, he revealed over on Twitter, and he stating that the next CoD will boast movement that are "a little different than Advanced Warfare." He adds that it "won't be like older games “leaving everyone to wonder: What will these changes be, adding some weight to the character, or no EXO suit or a faster movement.

But then again any drastic changes cannot be made, lest you lose your target audience. Still they did make a few changes to their newest iteration. A lot of people who lost interest in the franchise came back thanks to it. Maybe they’ll pull of something more spectacular seeing how this is their second attempt at the PS4 and Xbox One.

  • FFXV Development on the Fast Track

Square Enix told players back in September that Final Fantasy XV was about 55% complete. Now they sat that the game is only 60% complete and that they were still debating with the idea of adding airships. All of this has made it sound like that the game is still a long way from its projected late-2015 launch date. However recently Hajime Tabata said "the end is in sight", now that the demo is done, Tabata states that  a mere 5 percent more doesn't seem like much, "but it's actually a lot more complicated than that."

This is because in his words the team is to move "much faster", since the demo has been developed. He adds that 60% estimate is conservative. Though, it looks like it took quite some time to build the games demo, which is why the prioritized the demo more than the full game.

Tabata stated "Because of the way development works, now we've seen a solid milestone, and using that it means the end is in sight in some ways. In development there may be times where we move on with massive leaps and bounds, so the overall number shoots up by 10 percent at a time. I think we're looking at a much faster development in the near future."

  • Driveclub PS Plus Edition Delayed "until further notice"

Many had been waiting for DriveClub’s launch. The only exclusive PS4 racing game available right now. More than that it was set on an interesting Free-To-Play model with the PS Plus Edition costing nothing at all to subscribers.

The PS Plus Edition was supposed to be launched alongside the retail copy of the game last month. However it seems that Sony ran into some issues which made them change their plans yet again. Worst of all is that the PS Plus Edition of the game has now been postponed without any exact release date.any had been waiting for DriveClub's launch. The only exclusive PS4 racing game available right now. More than that it was set on an interesting Free-To-Play model with the PS Plus Edition costing nothing at all to subscribers.

Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida wrote the following open letter as an apology to those who were anticipating Evolution Studios' DriveClub.

    Hi everyone,

I wanted to provide you with the latest update on DRIVECLUB. Unfortunately, the road to launch has been a little rocky, and we are truly sorry that so many of you have not been able to enjoy everything that we had hoped DRIVECLUB would deliver. We have been listening to your feedback and realize that patience understandably is running out. Evo is working around the clock to close the gap, and we have deployed additional engineering resources to help resolve the remaining issues as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, the time frames required to roll out the fully connected experience will be longer than anticipated and we do not have an exact time frame for when they will be resolved. We will continue to update you on progress and you can find the latest info on the DRIVECLUB Facebook page.

We are also very conscious that we have disappointed so many of you who were looking forward to playing the promised PS Plus Edition. Our first priority is to provide you with the best possible experience while playing DRIVECLUB. With the high volume of new players and additional server load the PS Plus Edition is anticipated to bring, we are currently not confident that we can guarantee the best online experience. Until we can ensure that everyone can enjoy the full social connected online experience, we will be postponing the release of the PS Plus Edition until further notice. On behalf of WWS we are enormously grateful for your patience and we thank you for the continued support and encouragement. Again, we sincerely apologize for the delay. We are committed to giving you the best racing experience on PS4 - it's taking a little longer than we hoped.

    Thanks, Shu

  • Naughty Dog Talks Uncharted 4

We are getting more and more news about Uncharted 4 which is great. This means the project is going on strong and might be delivering the same amazing things that we love the franchise for.

In a recent interview with GameCrate, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End co-director Bruce Straley said they have "really, really cool ideas" for the UC4 and that there are some things that they are “still trying to figure out”. Considering the last statement, I wonder how far in development is UC4. Bruce said, "We're still trying to figure it out and yet I have faith in the team, I have faith in where we're going with it. I can say we have some really, really, cool ideas that I'm really excited to... sometime show you. That's all I can say but it's going to be awesome. I'm excited so you should be excited. Naughty Dog has a track record and just trust us, it's going to be cool."

Sadly he did not mention anything specific. But I can't help but get excited, it is Naughty Dog after all. I won't be surprised if we get to see something by December along with the two new PS4 exclusives that are rumored to be revealed.
