  • Bioshock Infinte and Gears of War Judgment: One Third Purchased a Season Pass

Season Passes Are Becoming More Popular

Talks about season passes and extended DLC content create ripples of agitation within the gaming community, but unfortunately developers have learnt that it brings in the money from gamers passionate about the game they are playing, and it brings in cash after the first initial purchase.

According to GameStop, season passes have been a huge success to its partnering developers, and more than a third of purchases on Bioshock Infinite and Gears of War: Judgment also involved the purchase of a season pass for the corresponding game.

The season passes will cover extensive DLC content long after the game's release, but should developers include the content at launch and be content with their sales, or is the season pass approach a one that should be accepted in the industry?

The gaming community seems to be one of the most vocal in the world, and a lot of changes to the industry can happen due to popular demand. However, at this time there seems a split between those who are for season passes and those who are against.

Either way, both Bioshock Infinite and Gears of War: Judgment have proven to be stellar games and amazing additions to this year's lineup.
