Wii U Game

  • Watch_Dogs is Now Gold, Ready for May 27th Release

    watch dogs release

Watch_Dogs is an open world game that has been under development by Ubisoft for around 5 years now, so it’s understandable why Ubisoft may be excited to announced that the game has now finally gone gold, after previous delays earlier on in the year.

Creative director Jonathan Morin commented on the milestone by saying “It’s exciting to be gold, but it’ll be more exciting when people are playing. For the fans it means that it’s true. It means there will be no such thing as another delay. But for us, it’s not done until they actually have it in their hands.”

Luckily, it won’t be long before we finally can get our hands on Watch_Dogs - Ubisoft has set the global release for the open world hackbox game for May 27th, so we’re a little over a week away before it’s available.

A lot of commotion has spread across the internet recently and early reviews and mediocre gameplay footage have turned some players away from Watch_Dogs, but despite the game only running at 30fps in 792p, I personally think the game will be well worth playing.

The premise of Watch_Dogs is original enough to make the experience enjoyable, no matter what the graphical quality of the game is like. It’s unlikely anything will change now that Watch_Dogs has gone gold, so if you’re truly upset that your new next gen title won’t run at 60fps consistently then you may want to find another game.

  • Watch Dogs’ Reveal "Was A Bit Early" According to Game’s Director

Who wasn't just blown away with Watch Dogs’ reveal? It was amazing, the first game that actually looked next gen. The story was unique, the gameplay was fresh and oh the graphics, the beautiful graphics. Not surprisingly everyone went bonkers for the game and it quickly reached the top of everyone’s most anticipated title.

Unfortunately, the delay happened. Not only that, there has been negative press lately that claims that the graphics of the game have been significantly downgraded; and I mean significantly. In light of all this Watch Dog’s game director has come forward and said that maybe the E3 2012 reveal was a bit too early.

In talking to Edge, Jonathan Morin said they were actually forced to make a presentation that year, "They forced us to go at E3 2012. Yves was the one who wanted us to go at that E3, even though we felt it was a bit early."

Morin is referring to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot as the person who insisted they present the game. Although he continues to say that he does in the end think that it was the right decision, “I think he was right”.

With all the bad press, this sort of info really doesn't show the game in good light. However the publishers have insisted that the game will definitely look next gen and if that’s the case, the delay is not really a huge deal. People will buy the game regardless, just a few months later than expected.

  • Beautiful New RPG Child of Light’s Release Date

    Child_of_Light_art

This is one of those RPGs that I am excited for, and if you are a fan of RPGs and beautiful storytelling, you should be too. The game is called Child of Light and has been developed by a small studio within Ubisoft, many of whose members previously worked on Far Cry 3.

The game has been created on the same engine as Rayman Legends and Origins, UbiArt Framework, and is the reason behind the games beautiful appearance. It is literally like a vibrant story book coming to life, simply gorgeous.

The developers took inspiration from JRPGs with most emphasis being placed on Final Fantasy VI. So the combat system is the familiar turned based combat. There is also option for local co-op with each player having unique experiences based on their character’s traits.

A new trailer for the game revealed that the game will be available on the 30th of April, 2014. The game will be coming to every console out there, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, Wii U and also the PC. This game quickly became one of my most anticipated titles. Check out their tailer to see why:

  • PC Gamers Will Get Their Hands on Rayman Legends

    0-5

Rayman Legends, the latest iteration in the classic platformer by Ubisoft has seen countless delays after it was announced as one of the launch title for the Wii U. Ubisoft eventually announced that the game would no longer be a Nintendo exclusive due to sales concerns, and would not be released until September 2013. This time, the game will be available on PC, Xbox 360, PS3, PS Vita and Wii U on August 30 in Europe and September 3 in North America.

There has been several controversies surrounding the delay of the game, especially on the Wii U. The game’s creator Michel Ancel reportedly joined co-workers in a protest about the decision to delay the game for the Wii U. They requested that the Wii U version be released in February as was originally planned, seeing as work on it was essentially complete.

But at least all is not lost for gamers waiting to scratch their platforming itch: due to the delay, the production team has apparently managed to put in 30 new levels into the game. Well, at least we know that they’re doing something good for the game in the meantime.

  • Batgirl New DLC Character in Injustice

    New Batgirl Character controller creator

A bug found on Injustice: Gods Among Us has been found, screen-shotted, and recorded by GameInformer which shows off a new character that should soon be available in the future. The bug shows the character Batgirl available to download for 0 Microsoft points.

The bug has since been fixed, however, Injustice’s official Twitter page tweeted out “Looks like the bat’s out the bag. Batgirl is a playable DLC character in Injustice. Catch her gameplay next week!”

Other characters have been rumored to be featured in upcoming DLC packs as well, however, so far only Lobo, and now Batgirl have been officially confirmed. A trailer was released for Lobo, and he will be available for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on May 7th. The Wii U version of Injustice already has Lobo as a downloadable character.

Do you think it’s fair to sell playable characters as DLC packs?
